A ode to all my friends

Many people say that  friendship day is just a marketing gimmick by the card making companies, to promote their products. And many say that they do not need a special day to express their friendship. But the origin of this day dates back to 1935, in the U.S when the U.S State Congress declared the first Sunday of August as a ‘National Friendship Day’.  Later many countries adapted it.

This is one day that I like to celebrate. I don’t think it is silly to tie friendships bands on your good friends. It is simply a way of affirming ‘Yes, you matter to me and I shall be there for you.’ These are words which we don’t often speak. But tying a friendship band says all of it, and more, without words.

What is Friendship?

A good friendship is when you can talk about anything and everything. You’re always there for one another – whatever life has in store.

I am blessed to have really good friends from childhood till date. I would like to dedicate a small photo feature of all those special friends who have made a difference in my life. I can never ever forget the happy memories I share with these special people. Check it out, I am sure it will make you smile, for me its a lifeline.

Sweet Sabina,
I met you as a stranger, took you as a friend,
I hope our long friendship will never end.
Our friendship is like a magnet, it pulls us together,
Because no matter where we are, our friendship will last forever!

The best of friends,
Can change a frown,
Into a smile,
When you feel down.
Thrity and Pari are just the friends I cant do without.

Cheers to such  fun loving Aunts. Road trips, shopping sprees and making merry, they always game for everything. Love you all.

When you work with like minded colleagues, they get real close to be very good friends. I am blessed with my bunch of beautiful girls of Petit.

Happy to be connected with some of my friends who are far away yet close to my heart.

My foodie friends I connect to with such ease. Is that because  we bond over food? No, its more than just food, a bunch of sweethearts I am so fond of.

Opposites attract for sure, one is bubbly and vivacious. The other is calm and precocious. Whatever they be, my blogging friends they will always be. Geetu and Sujata, Thank you for coming into my life.

Thank you Twitter for giving me some new online friends whom I also meet at events.

So, don’t miss out the chance and make your friends happy and special by sharing your feeling and thanking them on Friendship Day. Show it with cards, flowers, a telephone call, a friendship band or just a a tight hug. You make the choice and keep those precious treasures called friends close to your heart forever.

And here is wishing each and everyone who is reading this a very happy friendship day!
Hope you all have had a wonderful time with your friends.

Happy friendship day folks!
