Wish for a Fish on a dish?
It that time of the year when you are sad it has come to an end yet happily excited to be a part of the New year and what it has to offer. While playing Secret Santa to many friends on Facebook and Twitter, www.pescafresh.com decided to be my Santa claus and grant me my #wishforaFish. I wished for fresh Basa as I simply love that soft and tender fish. It has a light flavour and soft texture, making it perfect for adults and kids. And yes my wish came true. Thank-you!!

The soft texture of basa fillets makes them ideal for grilling, pan-frying and baking. And I decided to surprise my family on Saturday night with my hidden culinary skills. Being Indian and a lover of spice Tandoori Pan fried basa was on my mind.
So here is the recipe
Two Basa fish fillets, cut into thin long strip.
Oil for pan fry.
Channa flour – 2 Tbsp
ginger& garlic paste – 1 tsp
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Everest Fish Masala – 1 tsp
Juice of one lime
Tandoori Masala – 1 tsp
Salt to taste.
Procedure: Take a dish and add all the marination items with enough water to make a paste.
Marinated the fish strips with the above marination for 1 – 3 hrs
Now either deep fry or pan fry the fish pieces with enough oil for just two minutes on each side. The fish is tender and doesnt need more time to cook.
Garnish with onion rings, cilantro and a dash of lime and serve it hot and with a smile like I do.
